Demdike Stare Supports Finders Keepers

Spooked duo compile a selection of tracks to raise money for label after the loss of its stock in PIAS fire

We recently ran a news piece, not long after the PIAS fire, about the excellent Finders Keepers label putting out a series of curated compilations to support the label after the loss of most of its stock. Pulp frontman Jarvis Cocker curated the first edition of Make Do & Mend; now label associates Demdike Stare have added their contribution to the series.

It’s worth mentioning not only by virtue of its contents, a typically Demdikeian mesh of haunted soundscapes and percussive oddities, but also because the duo have added a couple of tracks of their own to the mix – a pair of edits of Finders Keepers back catalogue tracks by Horrific Child and Billy Green.

Demdike Stare’s Sean Canty works with Finders Keepers, digging through crates (he’s an avid record collector) to help uncover lost sonic artefacts for release.

The compilation’s available from the Finders Keepers site and Boomkat.

‘Billy Green – Toadtrip (Demdike Stare’s Double Drop Crash Edit)’

‘Vangelis – The Dragon’

‘Horrific Child – L’Etrange Mr Whinster (Demdike Stare’s Les Vampires Emeutes Mash Up)’

‘Fusioon – Contraste’

‘Billy Green – Death Trip’

‘Bappi Lahiri – Disco Title Music From Dahshat’

‘Gong – Rational Anthem’

‘Acanthus – Violent Library’

‘Bruno Spoerri – Background Rhythm 4’

‘Selda – Utan Utan’

‘Visitors – Visitors’

‘Stanley Myers – Main Theme From Sitting Target’

‘Philippe D’Aram – Des Ecuries’
