Decius Detail Debut Album, ‘Decius Vol. 1’

They'll release their first album in November via The Leaf Label

Decius – the joint project of Fat White Family’s Lias Saoudi, Trashmouth Records founders Liam and Luke May, and Paranoid London and Warmduscher member Quinn Walley – have revealed details of their debut album, Decius Vol. 1.

The new album builds on a series of 12-inch singles that the quartet have released in recent years, referencing acid and Chicago house, as well as the music that has been coming out of the thriving scene around Brixton Windmill. You can watch a video for lead track ‘Look Like A Man’ above.

In a statement about the new record, Saoudi, who came to be involved in the project after a "completely transformational" night at Berlin club Berghain, said: "Some of these song ideas date back to bands now long forgotten. When they’re sung over a blues guitar riff, they amount to little more than a hill of beans, but when you put them as a mantra over a repetitive beat they take on new twisted meanings."

The Leaf Label will release Decius Vol. 1 on November 4, 2022.
