Death Grips Site Down

Is it all just a PR caper?

Yesterday Death Grips made their new LP No Love Deep Web available for free download, complete with some very provocative artwork (a photo of an erect penis with the album title scrawled on it in marker pen). The band leaked the album after their label Epic decided to push the album release back to 2013.

Last night things took another surprising turn when the band tweeted, "our sight [sic] just got shut down- BASIC AS FUCK". The band’s official website has been offline since last night. Drummer Zach Hill told Pitchfork that Epic were behind the website’s shutdown. The label denies that they have anything to do with it.

So are Death Grips pulling a masterful PR stunt? Well, they’ve certainly got people talking.

The album is still streaming on Soundcloud, which makes us think ‘hmm’.
