Death Grips Deny Breakup Rumours in Rare Social Media Post

"Despite rumour and hearsay, we remain active as Death Grips," the post revealed

Death Grips have taken to Instagram to shoot down rumours that they had broken up.

In their first post on the social media platform since October 2023, the group shared an image featuring a picture in a photo frame alongside a handwritten note on said frame, which read: “Despite rumour and hearsay, we remain active as Death Grips.” The note is attributed to the band core longstanding members, Stefan “MC Ride” Burnett and Zach Hill.

Rumours of the Death Grips’ breakup appear to have originally surfaced earlier this year when a private comment by occasional project member Andy Morin was leaked publicly via Reddit, which suggested that Burnett no longer wanted to be involved. Morin did concede in the comment, however, that “truthfully none of us can ever predict what will happen with the group”.

Death Grips previously split in 2014, but resurfaced only a year later with the 2015 release of Fashion Week and The Powers That B. Their most recent release was 2018’s Year Of The Snitch, while they last played live in 2023.
