Band announced for Kid Canaveral's Xmas Baubles IV

Last year, Scottish indie five-piece De Rosa announced that they would be reuniting after splitting in 2009.

They’d released two albums, Prevention from that year preceded by 2006’s Mend, on Glasgow’s ace Chemikal Underground label, and have since been working on a new record over the course of the year. They’ve kept shtum over the specifics, though around the time of the reunion frontman Martin Henry said: "This new De Rosa will be seeking out new ways of writing, recording and releasing music. We want to make a break from the past and push the band in new directions for the sake of keeping it fun for us."

They’ve now confirmed that the album’s slated for release next year, but ahead of that we’ve got a first taste with this trailer video, featuring an excerpt of the track ‘Spectres’, with stately strings and acoustic plucks colliding with the pacey thump of an electronic kit – have a watch of the trailer above.

The release of the video also marks their addition to Kid Canaveral’s Xmas Baubles IV, the annual Christmas show that the Edinburgh indie band are putting on with their label Lost Map, the new label of former Fence Records director Johnny Lynch. It’s taking place at the city’s Portobello Town Hall on December 14, with De Rosa joining Kid Canaveral and headliner, none other than Edwyn Collins, on the bill.

It’s almost sold out, so head over to the Kid Canaveral’s website, where they’ll be announcing updates to the bill over the coming weeks, to get hold of tickets sharpish; in the meantime, have a watch of ‘Cathkin Braes’ from De Rosa’s debut LP below:
