Parlophone have announced that they’ll be putting out a new mix of David Bowie’s Low single ‘Sound And Vision’.
Sonjay Prabhakar’s remixed version, originally made for film director Tarsem Singh’s recent Sony ad, strips down the 1977 original, removing all instruments and leaving just Bowie and Mary Hopkin’s vocals and Roy Young’s piano.
In other Bowie news, the label will be continuing their 40th Anniversary singles series by releasing Bowie’s 1973 single ‘Sorrow’ on 7" picture disc. The track, a cover of a cover of itself (The British Merseybeats’ version of The McCoys’ original song), featured on Bowie’s Pin Ups album, and will get backed with a live version of the song, recorded at the Vancouver stop of his 1983 Serious Moonlight Tour.
‘Sound And Vision’ will get released, alongside the original (listen below), on October 7 for digital download, with ‘Sorrow’ following a week later on October 14.
