Brighton Museum and Art Gallery will host an exhibition of photographs of David Bowie captured between 1973 and 1976 from next month.
As The Vinyl Factory reports, Rock ‘N’ Roll with Me: Bowie/MacCormack 1973-76 is made up of 60 photographs taken by Bowie’s childhood friend Geoff MacCormack after he invited him to join The Spiders From Mars on tour. Over the next three years, MacCormack captured various recording sessions, tour moments and live performances.
This period in Bowie’s career spans from spans his Diamond Dogs tour, through to the filming of The Man Who Fell To Earth, and finally the recording of his 1976 album Station To Station, with the exhibition offering a behind-the-scenes look at these years of Bowie’s life as his profile continued to rise.
As well as the photographs, Rock ‘N’ Roll with Me: Bowie/MacCormack 1973-76 takes in a short film shot by Bowie during his and MacCormack’s trip to Moscow in 1973, videos of Bowie and MacCormack on stage together, and film excerpts. You can find more information about the exhibition here.
