David Bowie Birthday Tribute Planned

Tribute will take place on what would have been Bowie's 70th birthday

A tribute to David Bowie on what would have been his 70th birthday has been confirmed to take place at Brixton Academy in January.

The show will see friends, collaborators and former bandmates of Bowie’s come together to celebrate his life and career in the area of London in which he grew up. One of those set to take part in the show will be Gary Oldman who was a close friend of Bowie’s, while other performances will see "Bowie people performing Bowie music Bowie style".

The event is just one of a number of global tributes planned to Bowie with the proceeds from the shows set to be donated to local charities. The London event takes place on January 8 and tickets go on sale this Friday (November 18) at 9am.
