We first heard a taste of Dave ID’s new EP Exhibition last year, with the excellent ‘Soul Reprise’. Released digitally in November, it’s out today on 12", via MMW1 Recordings and Federal Prism, and is set to be followed by an album later this year. Coinciding with this, we’ve got a first look at the video for ‘AWIDK’, another of the new tracks on the EP – which also features remixes by Vatican Shadow, Frak, House Of Trax’s Rushmore and Front 242 (listen below) – have a watch above. To mark the EP’s release, Dave ID will be playing a special show on NTS tonight, from 11 pm – 1 am, while next month, he’s at Oslo in Hackey, London, with World Unknown label head Andy Blake and Jonnie Wilkes on April 5.
Dave ID’s also releasing a very, very limited edition dubplate of EP track ‘Zulu Bash’ – artwork is a natty-sounding "single colour screen print repeated on 10 separate sheets of archival acid free polyester film" – and we’ve got one of only ten copies available to give away. To be in with a chance of winning, just send your answer to the following question to comps@thequietus.com, with ‘DAVE ID’ in the subject line.
Q: What is Dave ID’s real name?
A. David Identification
B. David Andrew Hedges
