WATCH: New Daniel O’Sullivan Video

One half of Grumbling Fur shares a tripped-out new video

With his new solo album, VELD, released last month via Tim Burgess’ O Genesis Recordings, Daniel O’Sullivan has now shared a brand new video for ‘The Swimmer’, which features on the record. You can watch it above.

Directed by Michael James Lewis, who has worked on videos with Vatican Shadow and Tim Hecker, as well as both Grumbling Fur and Tim Burgess, in the past, the video pairs O’Sullivan’s bright, alternative pop with colourful, almost psychedelic visuals, with O’Sullivan having described the track itself as being about "being at sea in the suburbs and finding sanctuary in solitude".

O’Sullivan has a busy touring schedule ahead of him over the next few months, taking in live dates as part of Grumbling Fur, This Is Not This Heat and Charlemagne Palestine & Grumbling Fur Time Machine Orchestra. He has also assembled a sextet to perform songs from VELD live, with appearances confirmed for Portmeirion’s Festival Number 6 on September 9 and Oxford’s Audioscape Festival on November 19.

He will also perform at the Irish Museum Of Modern Art in Dublin tomorrow (July 29) alongside Mark Titchner and Stephen Dunne presenting a show called ‘Beneath The Rug The Plants Are Moving’.
