Moog have just released a new ‘Behind the Soundtrack’ video with Daniel Lopatin, in which he discusses the process of scoring Uncut Gems, the new film starring Adam Sandler and created by the Safdie Brothers, which arrives in UK cinemas tomorrow.
Lopatin had already gained plenty of critical attention for his work as Oneohtrix Point Never before trying his hand at film scoring with his soundtrack for the Safdie Brothers’ previous film, 2017’s Good Time, which earned him the Best Soundtrack Award at Cannes Film Festival. His score for Uncut Gems was released on Warp in December and has been one of the factors in the wave of hype that has preceded the film’s release in the UK.
The Moog One is heavily used in the score, and the legendary synth manufacturers have created this ‘Behind the Soundtrack’ video with Lopatin so you can get more of an insight into his creative process for the project, before heading out to see Uncut Gems this weekend.
