Daniel Avery Shares Tribute Track To Andrew Weatherall

'Lone Swordsman' has been released together with recent album cut 'Dusting For Smoke'

Daniel Avery has put out a new single that includes a tribute track to the late Andrew Weatherall.

Titled ‘Lone Swordsman’, the song takes its name from one of Weatherall’s numerous side projects, Two Lone Swordsmen, under which he released a number of albums and EPs with Keith Tenniswood. The track has been put out digitally as part of a single that also features ‘Dusting For Smoke’ from Avery’s latest LP, Love + Light, and proceeds from the sale of the single, which is available via Avery’s Bandcamp page, will be donated to Amnesty International in Weatherall’s memory. You can watch a video for ‘Lone Swordsman’ above.

"I was in my studio the morning I heard about Andrew Weatherall’s passing," Avery says. "The track ‘Lone Swordsman’ is what formed that day. Andrew was a hero, a friend and someone who regularly reminded us all how it should be done, not to mention the funniest fucker around."

Dusting For Smoke / Lone Swordsman is out now via Phantasy.
