LISTEN: Dan Snaith Airs New Daphni Track

Caribou unveils a new track on Jon Hopkins' residency, one of a few highlights on last night's show

Jon Hopkins’ BBC Radio 1 residency in the wee hours of this morning had a fair few great moments. He played out an entirely unexpected and brilliant track called ‘Ding Ding Dong’ by Thai musician Waipud Phetsuphan, spun East India Youth’s ‘Hinterland’ and finished up with some Talk Talk. A decent night’s work all round.

He was also joined in the studio by Dan Snaith of Caribou/Daphni fame who, in between cool stories about shaving off half his beard, aired a brand new Daphni track. It veers between actively danceable bass and vintage guitar sounds and it’s pretty good fun. Hopkins even says it’s "not that bad, actually". It’s heard around the 27:20 mark right here, but if you’ve got an hour and two minutes on your hands, the whole set is worth a listen.
