Video for title track from debut solo album, Everyday Robots, out in April; plus Latitude headline set confirmed

Damon Albarn has just announced that he’ll be releasing his debut solo album, Everyday Robots, on April 28 via Parlophone. Produced by Richard Russell, head of the XL label, who Albarn worked with on Bobby Womack’s The Bravest Man In The Universe from 2012, an is set to feature guest appearances from Bat For Lashes’ Natasha Khan and Brian Eno. Albarn will also, presumably, be playing material from the album when he headlines this year’s Latitude festival.

Today, he’s previewed the album with the video for its title track, with visual artist Aitor Throup creating a rather freaky piece of work, using actual cranial scans and CGI jiggery-pokery. Never thought you’d see Albarn’s de-fleshed skull mounted on top of an unidentified red sphere like some macabre Comic Relief Red Nose? Think again:
