Daft Punk will premiere a previously unreleased song at Paris’ Pompidou Centre this Thursday (May 11).
The track in question, ‘Infinity Repeating’, features The Strokes’ Julian Casablancas and is set to appear as one of nine bonus cuts on an upcoming 10th anniversary reissue of Daft Punk’s album Random Access Memories. It was originally written and recorded during the studio sessions for that record, with Casablancas also appearing on album cut ‘Instant Crush’.
The Pompidou Centre’s website says there will be three ways to experience ‘Infinity Repeating’ at the museum for its premiere. The "ultra-high fidelity listening experience" will see the track played on a sound system composed of 30 speakers, while there will also be the "cinematic experience" and a "collective experience" that will include a video debuted on the giant screen at the 350-seat Pompidou Centre Forum. Admission is free on a first-come first-served basis.
Set to be made available digitally and in 3xLP and 2xCD editions, the new version of Random Access Memories includes the full original album, as well as early alternate versions of album cuts ‘Get Lucky’, ‘Lose Yourself To Dance’ and ‘Give Life Back To Music’.
Columbia will release Random Access Memories (10th Anniversary Edition) on May 12, 2023.
