Daft Punk’s Thomas Bangalter Releases New Soundtrack Album

The six-hour 'CHIROPTERA MATIERE PREMIERE' is the soundtrack to a 2023 performance at the Paris Opera House

Thomas Bangalter, formerly one-half of Daft Punk, has released a new soundtrack album, CHIROPTERA MATIERE PREMIERE.

The six-hour album comprises music that the French artist wrote for a piece titled CHIROPTERA, which was made with Atelier JR and choreographer Damine Jallet, and performed with the help of 154 dancers at the Paris Opera House in November 2023.

An abridged 12-minute piece has been released in addition to the near-six-hour record, and can be listened to below. The full suite of music made by Bangalter is available for digital streaming, and will also be released as a 10xLP set, limited to 200 copies, later this year.

‘CHIROPTERA MATIERE PREMIERE’ is out now on Because Music.
