Daft Punk have launched a new website for archive material.
Appearing initially with the simple message "archives loading," the website has since been updated to start sharing exclusive and never-seen-before material from before they split last year. The first archive post from the duo, shared this week and available to watch above, is a storyboard for their ‘Around The World’ music video, uploaded to YouTube as "Daft Punk Archive #86 – Around The World – The Music Video Storyboard." The near-two-minute clip looks at the choreography and placement of the various dancers that appear in the now iconic 1997 video, which was directed by Michel Gondry.
The second archive upload, also on YouTube, is "Daft Punk Archive #193 – Around The World (In The Classroom with Michel Gondry)." It features Gondry in conversation, discussing the ‘Around The World’ video in-depth. Watch it here.
It’s not yet known when or what other archive material might be made available via the website, but you can visit it here. Its launch follows a 25th anniversary vinyl reissue of the duo’s album Homework, released in February, as well as a one-time Twitch stream of a live set the duo played in 1997.
