LISTEN: New Cut Hands

Tracks now streaming

Blackest Ever Black are continuing their excellent run with a new album from Cut Hands, whose Afro Noise album was a favourite of ours last year. This morning, tQ’s postie brought us the 12" of ‘Black Mamaba’ and ‘Krokodilo Theme’… and though we can’t play them ’til we get back to the record player, the just-released Soundcloud preview above gives an idea of what’s instore. As on Afro Noise, the music is a hailstorm of trebly, metallic tones against the massive thud of a techno that takes its cues more in the rhythms and instrumentation of Africa than the dancefloors of Detroit or Berlin. Read Rory Gibb’s excellent interview with William Bennett here. Pre-order the record here.
