CTM Announces 2018 Theme And First Acts

KABLAM, Jace Clayton and Swan Meat are amongst the first acts confirmed for January's CTM in Berlin

The first acts have been announced for 2018’s CTM Festival in Berlin with KABLAM and Jace Clayton’s Julius Eastman Memorial Dinner amongst the first confirmed acts.

Alson confirmed is a specially commissioned performance by Company Christoph Winkler, featuring groupA, Rashad Becker & Pan Daijing, Ian Helliwell and Patrick Primavesi, of ‘Ernest Berk Retrospective’. Swan Meat, Lydia Lunch, Zahra Mani & Mia Zabelka (with a project called ‘Medusa’s Bed’), Schwefelgelb, Jana Rush, Violence, Nadah El Shazly, Zorka Wollny & Andrzej Wasilewski, DJ Panic, Darkraver, Cevdet Erek, Amenea and Rashaad Newsome (presenting ‘FIVE Berlin’) all complete the first announcement. Zuli, the winner of last year’s CTM Radio Lab project, is also set to perform a specially commissioned work.

The theme for 2018’s festival is ‘Turmoil’, with the organisers saying the bill will explore "the state of music and sound practice in the face of a confusing and critical present".

As ever, the festival will be hosting a number of special one-off performances and commissions, with more acts to be announced in the coming months. The festival will take place across various Berlin venues from January 26 – February 4. For more information, and to purchase tickets, head here.
