Australian post-punk band Crime & the City Solution have announced a worldwide tour in October – their first shows in twenty years.
The tour, which includes a stop at London’s Queen Elizabeth Hall on October 26, follows the release of a new compilation album, An Introduction To… Crime & the City Solution / A History Of Crime – Berlin 1987, out on September 24 via Mute, taking tracks predominantly from their late-1980s Berlin era.
There’s also an album of brand new material in the offing, American Twilight, which is set for release in early 2013.
The band, which went through four line-up changes following their formation in Sydney in 1977, will consist of Berlin-era Simon Bonney, Bronwyn Adams and Alexander Hacke, as well as The Dirty Three’s Jim White, Swans’ Troy Gregory, David Eugene Edwards and Matthew Smith. The band will be joined on tour by the visual artist Danielle de Picciotto, who will be doing live projections to accompany the music. For more details on the tour, head to the band’s website here.
In the meantime, watch the band performing ‘The Sun Before The Darkness’, which will be on the new compilation, below:
