Rock and roll’s premier column inch grabber Courtney Love is at it again, after revealing that she will use the name Hole to release her next album.
Nobody’s Daughter will be released by the end of year or in early 2010 and will be the first Hole record since 1998’s Celebrity Skin.
However, founding member Eric Erlandson will not be appearing on the new record, while former bass player Melissa auf der Maur will only provide backing vocals.
The album will mostly be a collaboration between Love and Micko Larkin, former guitarist in defunct indie-band Larrikin Love.
Love told NME that she had no choice but to return to her grunge rock roots after her solo record went "from being an aspiration of Blood on the Tracks to Diamond Dogs."
She said: "It’s huge, like a big, fist-shaped hole. The rock Courtney didn’t really go away, but I needed a rock partner. I have my rock partner now."
Speaking of Miko Larkin, she added: ""I am old enough to be his cool auntie."
