Cooly G Announces New Album

Wait 'Til Night due on Hyperdub in October

South London producer Cooly G has announced her second album, Wait ‘Til Night, due out on October 20 via Hyperdub. It follows up her debut, 2012’s Playin Me, with the label calling it an "album of sensitive, lo-fi bedroom music". The announcement points to U.S. R&B, sound system culture and synth-pop as influences, switching down from the housier sounds of her debut, while lyrically the album follows a romance over its duration, working its way through to ‘3 Of Us’, showcasing Cooly’s rapping skills, with "double-time flows casting off an absent babyfather".

Ahead of the release, she’ll be playing the Hyperdub night at Corsica Studios next Wednesday, September 3, alongside Dean Blunt, Jessy Lanza and more (have a listen to a warm-up mix from Okzharp, also on the bill, made for us here).
