Colin Self Reveals New Album, ‘Respite ∞ Levity For The Nameless Ghost In Crisis’

They've also shared lead single 'Respite For The Tulpamancer'

Colin Self has a new album on the way via RVNG Intl., titled Respite ∞ Levity For The Nameless Ghost In Crisis.

Comprised of 12 tracks, the record sees Self sing in both Latin and Polari. Marking the artist’s third full-length effort, it’s preceded by lead track ‘Respite For The Tulpamancer’, for which you can watch a video below.

In a statement about the new album, Self said: “People around me might not know what [the Latin and Polari vocals] mean, but all of these trans or queer ghosts that are listening to the music or watching the performance are having a really good time,” Self says. “These songs sound gorgeous, but they’re all about police, eating ass, and sex work, these profane things. I wanted to find a way to breathe life into this act of hiding the explicit in the quotidian-sounding atmosphere of pop music.”

RVNG Intl. will release Respite ∞ Levity For The Nameless Ghost In Crisis on February 21, 2025.
