Claire Rousay Reveals New Album, ‘Sentiment’

It's her first full-length release for Thrill Jockey

claire rousay has shared details of a new album, sentiment.

Out in April, the 10-track record marks the US artist’s debut full-length release for the Thrill Jockey label. It’s said to explore themes of loneliness, nostalgia, sentimentality, guilt and sex, and its announcement is accompanied by the unveiling of lead track ‘head’, which you can listen to just below.

In a statement about sentiment, which addresses the pop music-centred arc of the forthcoming record, rousay said: "I have been on a quest to communicate my feelings and ideas as clearly as possible lately. Pop seemed like the way to do that this time."

sentiment follows on from rousay’s last studio album, 2022’s everything perfect is already here, as well as the limited edition cassette album wouldn’t have to hurt, which also came out in 2022.

Thrill Jockey will release sentiment on April 19, 2024.
