Claire Rousay Reworks Circuit Des Yeux On New EP

rousay takes on three tracks from Circuit Des Yeux's '-io' LP on 'Sunset Poem'

US artist claire rousay has reworked music by Circuit Des Yeux, AKA Haley Fohr, for a new EP.

Sunset Poem takes in rousay’s interpretation of three tracks from Fohr’s 2021 album -io: ‘Vanishing’, ‘Sculpting The Exodus’ and ‘Argument’. You can listen to rousay’s take on ‘Sculpting The Exodus’ above.

Speaking about enlisting rousay to remix -io, Fohr said: "I found claire rousay’s music when we were all stuck inside for two years. Her music kind of gave me the atmosphere of company in a solitary reality. It reminded me of the way I used to interact with music when I was a teenager. A room can become a whole ecosystem once the music is playing. Her deft ability to work with sound in a microscopic way is what makes this collaboration so successful.

"It was an honour to give Claire the stems of -io. The results are beguiling and immense, like watching lead pipes slowly melt into a metallic river."

The release of Sunset Poem will follow on from the recent unveiling of a surprise album by rousay, wouldn’t have to hurt.

Matador will release Sunset Poem on October 20, 2022.
