Chromatics have called an end to the group after 20 years together.
Members Ruth Radelet, Adam Miller and Nat Walker announced the news via social media, saying the decision to end the band was "difficult" and followed "a long period of reflection."
The statement continues: "We would like to thank all of our fans and the friends we have made along the way – we are eternally grateful for your love and support. This has been a truly unforgettable chapter in our lives, and we couldn’t have done it without you. We are very excited for the future, and look forward to sharing our new projects with you soon."
The Portland-based group released their first EP, a two-track record for US label Hand Held Heart, in 2001, going on to release two studio albums with now defunct label Gold Standard Laboratories. Eventually, they settled on Italians Do It Better, releasing a further eight studio albums with the label, as well as a number of singles.
The band’s most recent album, Faded Now, was released last year, while they also contributed to the 2017 soundtrack for Twin Peaks: The Return.
