You can watch an exclusive video of Chris Carter running through the gear which shaped his album Chemistry Lessons Volume One, a TQ favourite that merged analogue explorations with software edits. Carter goes in depth for this Mute video, outlining his methodology and equipment preferences.
You can also catch the Carter-directed video to ‘Tangerines’, a track taken from Chemistry Lessons Volume One, which was described by tQ editor John Doran as “masterful and well worth the wait.". ‘Tangerine’s’ video is a retro-futurist affair that follows mid-century technological advancements.
Carter also has two live dates coming up. These won’t be ‘songs from the record’ but modular shows that will take their own form each night – at the recent Faber night at the Social in London, this built into a warm rave that had us frustrated at the presence of seats. The first is on May 23, at the Cabinet Gallery, London, and will feature a live DJ set from previous tQ reviews editor Sophie Coletta – who will be sountracking Carl Theodor Dreyer’s 1928 film The Passion of Joan of Arc. You can get tickets for that here. The second date will be on TQ’s very own stage at Sea Change festival, Totnes. The event takes place 24th to 25th August 2018
