Charlotte Gainsbourg Announces New Album

Stage Whisper for release in January

Musician and actress Charlotte Gainsbourg, whose last album IRM was a stark meditation on her time spent seriously ill in hospital, has announced the release of its follow-up. Stage Whisper is a double album, one half live recordings and one half new/unreleased studio material, and is due for release on 30th January through Because Music.

Many of the tracks on the album are reported to have taken shape during the sessions for IRM, and feature collaborations with Beck (who produced IRM), Noah & The Whale, Connan Mockasin and Conor O’Brien of Villagers. It will be preceded by the release of a single, ‘Anna’, on 23rd January.

The first track from the studio half of the album, ‘Terrible Angels’, has been around for a while now – watch below.
