Wild Beasts, British Sea Power, Everything Everything, Maxine Peake and more have signed up to contribute to a new remix project with the aim of helping to stimulate sign-ups to the UK organ donor register.
Each artist involved in the project will contribute a stem to a database. Some artists have created original stems just for the project, while other artists have contributed a stem from existing and well-known tracks. Stems range from a drum beat, bassline or synth line.
The project is being co-ordinated by Dutch Uncles’ Robin Richards who will be contributing stems of his own as well as some from Dutch Uncles’ tracks. "The stems database represents the organ donor register," he says. "The ease with which is it to upload a stem to help somebody make a track is representative of how simple it is to sign up to the organ donation register and potentially save a life."
The stems will be free to download, and those using the database are encouraged to make and share their creations born from the project. You can find more information on the project here.
