Candlelight Records have announced details for Candlefest, a weekend-long festival that they’re curating, running from August 23-25 and taking place at The Underworld in Camden.
The event will feature a Friday night headline set from extreme metal duo Anaal Nathrakh, producers of one of our favourite albums of last year, who will be bringing their explosive, anarchic live show to the stage for a rare performance from the largely studio-based band. Saturday night will be headlined by Ireland’s Altar Of Plagues who are recognised for their genre-hopping approach to dark metal, drawing on influences as broad as Bjork and Converge to create their own unique brand of heavy and intense musical creations. Finally on Sunday there will be a headline set from folk-influenced black metallers Winterfylleth.
Joining the headliners will also be London based noise-makers Palehorse who will be showcasing their intensely raw and unique sound, encased on their excellent new album Harm Starts Here, released this week, along with the likes of Xerath and Mael Morhda.
