Cabaret Voltaire To Release New EP, ‘Shadow Of Funk’

Two accompanying albums will follow in March and April

Cabaret Voltaire, now the solo project of Richard H. Kirk, has a new EP on the way, titled Shadow Of Funk.

The successor to last year’s Shadow Of Fear album, the three-track EP is described as a companion piece to the album with elements of the record set to be familiar to attendees of pre-COVID-19 Cabaret Voltaire live shows. You can listen to ‘Billion Dollar’ from the new EP above.

The EP and album form the first two instalment of a series of four releases that will continue into the spring with the release of two drone albums. The first of these, a 50-minute piece entitled Dekadrone, is due out on March 26, while the second, the 64-minute piece BN9Drone will be released on April 23.

Mute will release Shadow Of Funk on February 26, 2021.
