This Friday, there’ll be a special Oslo Meets Hackney, Christmas tree-making-cum-music event taking place in east London. Inspired by Oslo’s tradition of gifting a tree to Trafalgar Square each year as a symbol of gratitude for British support of Norway during World War Two, it will begin with Hack-a-Tree, the construction of an alternative, high-tech reinterpretation of a traditional Christmas tree. This will be followed by music, technology and fashion mini-presentations, including one by the brilliant by:Larm festival, before Bjørn Torske and Mathias Stubø DJ a Northern Light film showcase and electro party until late.
It’s taking place at BL-NK above Old Street and tickets are available for free – get hold of them here and find full details at the Facebook event page here.
