Buzzcocks, alongside other punk and new wave musicians, will perform at the Royal Albert Hall next month in tribute to Buzzcocks’ lead singer Pete Shelley, who died in December.
“I’m looking forward to an amazing show at London’s Royal Albert Hall,” Steve Diggle of Buzzcocks said. “It’s going to be the perfect setting for us and our fans to pay tribute to Pete Shelley.”
Buzzcocks will perform with Dave Vanian and Captain Sensible from the Damned, Peter Perret from Only Ones, Thurston Moore from Sonic Youth, Tim Burgess from the Charlatans, Pauline Murray from Penetration, Richard Jobson from the Skids and “classic” Buzzcocks members John Maher and Steve Garvey. More guests will be announced soon.
This will be the first time the Royal Albert Hall has hosted 70s punk and new wave artists, and the gig will take place on june 21. You can buy tickets here.
