Later this month, Burnt Friedman will release a new album titled Musical Traditions In Central Europe through his Nonplace label.
The album sees the musician present 10 tracks that showcase his polyrhythm-focused signature sound of dub, techno and jazz, and is led by opening track ‘Supreme Self Dub’. You can watch the video for that track, which features Friedman in Berlin, exclusively above.
Save for two tracks, all of the music featured on Musical Traditions In Central Europe was produced, engineered and mixed by Friedman across a 10-year period between 2010 and this year while he continued to work on numerous other projects which have seen release during that time.
Nonplace will release Musical Traditions In Central Europe on May 31. Friedman recently played with collaborator Mohammad Reza Mortazavi at Malmö festival Intonal – you can read about that set and others here.
