Burial has produced the soundtrack for director Harmony Korine’s next film, Baby Invasion.
The thriller is filmed in first-person shooter style, and follows a “group of mercenaries using baby faces as avatars” as they break into wealthy people’s homes, according to a synopsis shared by IndieWire. Burial’s score for the movie will debut when the feature premieres at Venice Film Festival in September.
This is Korine’s first film since 2023’s Aggro Dr1ft, which was soundtracked by US producer AraabMuzik. The director’s past credits include cult classics such as Gummo and Spring Breakers.
Burial, meanwhile, also recently provided the score for Andrea Arnold’s Barry Keoghan-starring feature Bird. He released a split 12-inch single with Kode9, Phoneglow / Eyes Go Blank, via Hyperdub last month, and debuted on XL with the EP Dreamfear in February of this year.
