Hyperdub’s elusive man of mystery Burial, whose last release was the excellent Kindred EP earlier this year, is set to release a new single on 17th December. Featuring two tracks, revealed simply as ‘One’ and ‘Two’ at this point, it’s over 25 minutes long, continuing in the same long-playing vein as Kindred. It’s up for pre-order now at Boomkat, and will be released both as a vinyl 12" and a CD.
Rumblings in the Hyperdub camp – this new single, plus Kode9’s recent Burial DJ sets being packed full of new material – hint that we could be in for a new Burial LP, a long-awaited follow-up to 2007’s Untrue, sooner than we expect. No doubt it’ll be announced in a similarly low-key and surprising fashion, if and when such a beast does emerge. Watch this space.
When Kindred was released we ran an extensive review/feature covering both that single and his previous work. Click here to read the feature.
