Burial and Kode9 have released a split single, titled Phoneglow / Eyes Go Blank.
Available now for digital download and streaming via Hyperdub, it features a solo track by each artist. Burial’s ‘Phoneglow’ is a nine-minute epic that takes in 2-step UK garage drums and R&B vocal samples, while Kode9’s ‘Eyes Go Blank’ ups the tempo with chopped jungle breaks and footwork-style rhythms. A vinyl release for the split record is due in August, with pre-orders available only via Hyperdub.
The new release follows on from Burial and Kode9 each contributing a track to a split record for fabric Originals last July.
