Brian Eno To Put Out Record Store Day Release

His soundtrack for a documentary about designer Dieter Rams will be released for the first time next month

Brian Eno is putting out a special release for Record Store Day.

The composer’s soundtrack for a 2018 documentary about influential designer Dieter Rams will be released for the first time as part of the annual celebration of vinyl and record shops, which is this year set for April 18. The 11 instrumental tracks that make up the soundtrack will be pressed on heavyweight white vinyl and packaged in a full coloured sleeve, with all copies also set to include a download code.

Director Gary Hustwit asked Eno to work on the soundtrack because he felt there was "a connection between Dieter’s design sensibility and Brian’s music," with the film taking a look at the life and legacy of Rams.

Brian Eno’s Rams: Original Soundtrack will be available to buy in-store only on April 18 during Record Store Day.
