Brian Eno will reissue his 1983 LP Apollo: Atmospheres and Soundtracks with a bonus album of new material on July 19.
Originally recorded for the documentary For All Mankind, which was directed by American journalist, film director and screenwriter Al Reinert, this extended edition will celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 moon landing.
The original material will be remastered by Abbey Road’s Miles Showell, and the bonus album, released via UMC, will include 11 new instrumental compositions reimagining the original soundtrack. You can watch a video for one of those new track, titled ‘Like I Was A Spectator’ above.
Brian Eno recorded these 11 new tracks with Daniel Lanois and Roger Eno, bringing together the team that created the original album for the first time since its release.
The album can be pre-ordered here and will be available in digital, CD and vinyl editions. Last month, it was revealed that Eno would be contributing to the score for Netflix’s upcoming reboot of the series Top Boy.
