With news of The Fall’s 32nd studio album, New Facts Emerge, recently announced, we’re very happy to present the first listen of a track from the album. You can hear ‘Fol De Rol’ above, exclusively, right now.
Clocking in at almost seven minutes, there’s plenty in there to get fans of the band excited for the new record ahead of its release next month via Cherry Red Records. The album was recorded with the band’s current incarnation, one of many in its famously changing line-up, led as always by Mark E. Smith, and featuring Peter Greenway (guitar, synth, backing vocals). Dave Spurr (bass, Mellotron, backing vocals) and Keiron Melling (drums).
The band will play their first ever set at London’s 100 Club on July 27 to celebrate the album’s release and you can find out more about that here. While that’s sold out, the band have just locked in a live show at London’s KOKO on November 30 and tickets will go on sale soon.
The album will be released the day after their appearance at the 100 Club on July 28. You can read our recent feature on tQ and friends’ 60 favourite The Fall songs, in celebration of the venerable Mr Smith’s 60th birthday, here.
