Branchage Festival 2014 Announced

tQ partner with Jersey film festival for film, music, talks and more

Jersey-based arts festival Branchage is back for its fifth edition on September 24-28 after a two-year break. As well as events curated by French fashion designer agnès b. and the BBC Radiophonic Workshop, the Quietus, one of the event’s partners, are looking forward to a number of excellent film screenings across the five days. Most, ahem, eye-catchingly, is A One Eyed Man In The Kingdom Of The Blind, directed by Robert Rubbish, which features Lias Saoudi of Fat White Family as a detective hired to track down a one-eyed man in Jersey. Another one to look out for is American Interior, Dylan Goch’s documentary which follows the journey of Super Furry Animals frontman Gruff Rhys on his search for a mysterious ancestor.

Also not to be missed is Pulp: A Film About Life, Death & Supermarkets – a film that documents Pulp’s preparation for their Sheffield homecoming show and last UK gig in 2012. Peter Strickland’s Berberian Sound Studio, meanwhile, is followed fittingly by a Radiophonic Worksop Q&A with Lenny Abrahamson’s new film Frank, written by Jon Ronson and loosely based on Frank Sidebottom, the comedian persona of Chris Sievey also on the bill.

Festival and travel passes are on sale now at the festival’s official website.
