Boy Harsher are releasing a new album through their own Nude Club label.
The Runner (Original Soundtrack) is both an eight-track album and a short film that blends horror visuals with a meta-style "documentary" about the duo’s recording processes. Written over the course of 2020, the material on the album is said to have offered them a form of "catharsis," amid being unable to tour during the COVID-19 pandemic. You can watch a visual for lead track ‘Tower’, which opens the album, above.
In a statement, the duo’s Jae Matthews said: "We wrote ‘Tower’ several years ago and although it’s evolved over the years, its initial intent remains the same – that feeling of being enveloped, suffocated, entrapped in a relationship, which in turn manifests into reckless attack. What you love the most can make you into a monster. And that’s what this song is about, being a paralysed fiend."
Nude Club will release The Runner (Original Soundtrack) on January 21, 2022.
