WRWTFWW To Reissue Two Boillat Thérace Quintet Albums

The modal jazz group's two sole albums, dating back to the 1970s, will arrive via the label's sister imprint, We Release Jazz

Two 1970s albums by modal jazz group Boillat Thérace Quintet are being reissued for the first time via WRWTFWW’s sister label, We Release Jazz.

The Swiss group’s 1974 self-titled album and 1975 follow-up, the Benny Bailey-featuring My Greatest Love, have been remastered for the new release. Both have become much sought-after on the resale market with original copies of the album fetching more than £100 on Discogs. You can check tracks from both albums via WRWTFWW’s Bandcamp page.

Boillat Thérace Quintet, WRWTFWW’s announcement notes say, features covers of Freddie Hubbard’s ‘Straight Life’, Keith Jarrett’s ‘In Your Quiet Place’, and Rahsaan Roland Kirk’s ‘Sweet Fire’. My Greatest Love, meanwhile, takes in covers of Freddie Hubbard’s ‘Gibraltar’ and Kenny Dorham’s ‘Blue Bossa’.

WRWTFWW will reissue Boillat Thérace Quintet and My Greatest Love on June 19, 2020.

The reissues follow on from the label’s repress of Japanese group Inoyama Land’s 1983 album Danzindan-Pojidon in March.
