Bo Ningen For Branchage Bash

Plus! Live animation and Quietus DJs

One of the highlights of last year’s Branchage Festival in Jersey was Bo Ningen’s live soundtrack to Tatsuo Sato’s famous anime, Cat Soup. As limbs flew and all sorts of peculiar stuff happened on the screen, Bo Ningen played a formidable set of the sort of blistering rock that has found them notorious from London to their native Japan.

We’re therefore pleased to tell you that Branchage are bringing Bo Ningen’s Cat Soup to London next Thursday, March 10th. What’s more, it’ll be in the rather lovely surroundings of Shoreditch Church, and partnered with a live, overhead projector animation from the award-winning artist Daniel Barrow. "From the dark of the audience, Daniel Barrow works his antiquated overhead projector, moving layers of immaculate illustrations through its beam while he narrates along; flickering on the screen, a strange and dark story unfolds, the tale of a deadbeat dustman and an inventive serial killer…" we are told. The Quietus will be on hand to play some records at the bash, and you can buy tickets here. The Quietus last saw Bo Ningen taking on British Sea Power at table tennis in the latter’s dressing room on Sunday. It looks as if they play a mean game.
