Blur’s Alex James Advertises Corned Beef

You wouldn't get this sort of thing from seed-fans Suede

These days, Blur bassist Alex James likes to portray himself as something of a gastronomic sophisticate, producing cheese in his rural retreat. However, in his role as The Sun‘s food columnist, James today blasts out of the masthead of the paper holding a tin of corned beef, part of a marketing giveaway of a free tin to every reader. "Corned beef is great food for hungry people and there are two main ways to enjoy it – in a sandwich or a hash" James enthuses. "For my wife Claire, I make a kind of burger with bubble and squeak then corned beef and a fried egg on top," he adds; "It screams out for lashings of ketchup – and is a delight."
