Glastonbury organiser Michael Eavis has delivered his strongest hint yet that Blur are to join Bruce Springsteen as one of the headliners of this year’s Glastonbury Festival.
While speaking to BBC 6music at last nights NME Awards, Eavis was asked if Blur would be turning up at the June bash. “Yeah, you can look forward to that, yeah but it’s not officially announced yet," was his reply. “Bit more work to do on that yet but you will not be disappointed, I can assure you,” he added.
Eavis confirmed that Lily Allen would be playing the festival. “We’ve got Lily Allen of course and she was practically born at the festival anyway, because her parents used to come. It’s gonna be lovely to get her back again with the new single.
“I think her new single is the best song she’s ever made actually so she’ll be very high up on the bill on the Friday night, not headlining though.”
