Dance festival Bloc Weekend announced last year that 2011’s edition festival was the last to be held at Butlins Minehead. Now they’ve announced the new venue, in advance of releasing the full line-up on 1st February.
Bloc 2012 will be held in the London Pleasure Gardens, in the Royal Victoria Docks. The space has been created by the people behind Glastonbury’s Shangri-La area – it’s got a definite wrecked, industrial look to it, and as such will probably be the perfect space for late night techno action. They’ve secured a license to run until 6am, and apparently the space will be fully divided up into purpose built venues, both on land and floating on the water.
