LIARS & Blawan For Field Day

More acts announced!

Field Day have announced more acts for this year’s Festival, with the additions coming from the electronic end of the line-up. First of all, we’re leaping off our office chairs and shouting about scarecrows to announce that LIARS have just been added to the bill. Given the unusual sounds they’ve been coming up with for their forthcoming sixth LP, this promises to be one of the Festival highlights. Their gig in the tent at the first Field Day was one of the finest we’d ever seen. The Quietus is also pleased to note that Blawan will be playing the Bugged Out stage in Victoria Park on June 2nd, where they’ll be joined by Swedish electronic pop duo Korallreven. Cloth-hat-fan Devonte Hynes heads back from his adopted home of New York for a set in his new Blood Orange, with Kindness, Koreless, Friends, Daniel Avery (Stopmakingme) and Modeselektor confirmed to play live, while Justin Speak and the BBC’s Huw Stephens are along for DJ sets.

The Quietus will of course be there hosting the Village Mentality Stage, with Mazzy Star, Death Grips, Gold Panda, Papa M, Tortoise, Revere, R Stevie Moore all confirmed. Nice. So the rest of the bill runs like… Afrocubism, Baxter Dury, Com Truise, Errors, Fennesz, Franz Ferdinand, Gold Panda, Grimes, Here We Go Magic, Hudson Mohawke – Live, Jeffrey Lewis & The Junkyard, Julio Bashmore, Metronomy, Outfit, Maya Jane Coles, Mazzy Star, Papa M, Peaking Lights, Rustie, SBTRKT, Spector, THE MEN, Theme Park, To Kill a King, The Vaccines, Zomby and Zulu Winter all on the bill.
