WATCH: Blackest Woods Video

Watch a short, bleak clip by Norwegian band Blackest Woods, 'Blackest Flora/Blackest Fauna'

Norwegian crew Blackest Woods have issued a short, sharp shock of a video for their track ‘Blackest Flora/Blackest Fauna’, juxtaposing views of nature with violent, altogether more anthropogenic images like cars burning rubber and darkened streets. The band, who are from Notodden, are connected to the Norwegian necromantic rock community, which has produced Quietus favourites like Haust and Arabrot. We ran an in-depth feature on the subject last year – click here to read more.

"Welcome to the world of greenish gloom," reads the release accompanying the video. "The dreamtime rock of Blackest Woods. This is not Black Metal. This is the wrath of the woods. This is nature’s revenge. The almighty flora and fauna of Telemark’s revenge. If you ignore the rumbling bass noise from the over dimensioned car stereos of the degenerated teens of Notodden, and listen carefully you might hear a noise from the woods looming in the night. Turn off your car engine. Throw away that industrialized meat with cheese. Follow this noise. Feel its spirit."
