Björk has lined up three matinee performances at Reykjavík’s Harpa Hall, which will see her collaborate with over 100 Icelandic musicians.
Set to be live-streamed online, the three shows will also take place with a live audience with Iceland now beginning to reopen from its COVID-19 lockdown.
The performances, which have been arranged in association with Iceland Airwaves festival, are intended as a celebration of the Icelandic musicians that Björk has worked with over her career. Each concert will find the artist collaborating with over 100 Icelandic musicians, who will be split across three groups that have played a part within the creation of her discography.
Each concert will showcase new instrumental arrangements of scores from Björk’s back catalogue, and will raise money and awareness for Kvennaathvarfid, a charity that supports women and immigrants of different origin within Iceland.
Tickets will go on sale for pre-order this Thursday (July 2) at 10am Icelandic time, with the general sale following 24 hours later. The shows will take place on August 9, 15 and 23, 2020.
